Medical Genetics is a medical super speciality branch of medicine, which specializes in using genetic knowledge for clinical management of patients. It focuses on determining how a genetic variation can affect a person’s health and disease. Our department has capabilities for:
• Evaluating individuals with a suspected genetic condition
• Diagnosis of the condition by using appropriate genetic tests and
• Providing genetic counseling to the patient and family about the management of the condition and prevention.
Our medical geneticist Dr. Dhanya Lakshmi N is available once a month on second Saturday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Our genetic counselor, Gopika K N, provides daily genetic counseling services in our hospital.
